Lynsey W. JeffriesLynsey W. Jeffries has grown her organization, Higher Achievement, from a discrete after-school and summer program serving 1,000 middle school scholars in Washington, D.C., to a national organization that helps all students navigate the middle school transition.
By 2016, Higher Achievement will have reached 7,000 students. Lynsey is engaged in various community-focused efforts and is a founding board member of Mundo Verde Public Charter School, a bilingual school that serves a diverse student body and teaches them to be global citizens. She was selected by the Independent Sector as a 2010 American Express NGen Fellow. During her fellowship period, she established new networks with other nonprofit leaders across disciplines ranging from civic participation to youth employment. Lynsey is also a 2017 Class One W.K.Kellogg Foundation Fellow in the Racial Equity & Healing Cohort. |
